Rang A Dó's Busy Outdoor October!

Rang a Dó have been busy this October getting outdoors for autumn trails, soil exploration and exploring Maths in our environment! We mainly focused on the theme of 'autumn' in our environment this month - we have been collecting leaves, conkers, acorns, pine cones and much more for our 'sense of autumn' table- we also completed an autumn hunt down the school lane, all the way down to the River Mattock! We had great fun.

We had a very special visit from the local Mattock Rangers senior team who came to the school with the cup after winning the Louth GAA Intermediate Football Champsionship in early October.

We showed them all great support and were delighted to see them visit our school!

We also took part in Maths week! this involved opening our eyes to Maths all around us - at school, at home and outdoors! We joined up with Rang a hAon to complete a Maths trail based on our school grounds, we worked in groups to figure out various tasks, we used our school tablets to record our activities and we even got Mrs Matthews involved in selling items from her office using money!

Finally, we had a fantastic day - dressing up for Halloween for a very important charity 'Trick Or Treat For Temple Street'. We arrived in very spooky and creative costumes and spent the day playing some fun games and having a popcorn party! We showed off our costumes and admired those of the other classes during our 'Spooks Parade!
